PTFE pestle has 0.15 – 0.25 mm clearance with borosilicate mortar. Pestle shaft 6.5 mm. Volumes stated are working volumes. Ideal for small amounts of tissue. Serrated pestle should be used on tough materials such as tumours. Avoid excessive generated heat as could cause binding.
